Home From Home Support Service’s support has enabled us to
purchase essential training aids for our athletes across all levels and events including the purchase of an Electronic Distance Measuring unit ( EDM).The EDM allows for the fast and accurate measurement of throws and jumps including Hammer, Discus, Javelin, long and triple jump, using the EDM we are able to not only ensure we are giving the best feedback to athletes but we have also been able to utilise it at competitions across the country.
Using EDM means that competitions run smoothly avoiding overruns and potential clashes with other events , this means our athletes are at the event they are meant to be at the time it starts, encouraging them to participate in multiple disciplines. We have trained numerous officials and parents on the use of the EDM which in turn means we are able to gain points for the club at Athletic events, the EDM also provides a small income to the club when we take it to other sites, this income covers the ongoing cost and servicing of the unit ensuring that it provides a long life of service. The support we have received from Home Support Services Ltd has enable the club to move forward with its development and training programme and is something that we will benefit from for years and even decades to come!
